Studio

João Dias Studio was founded by João Dias, a portuguese artist with a substantial international background. At the Studio, he pursues his artistic practice – ever more oriented towards large-scale sculpture and Public Art – while also assuming the role of Artistic Director for new projects and initiatives.
 
Alongside artistic creation, the Studio takes on curatorial related practices. Experimental Objects (2014-2016) and POLDRA (2018-)

are the most relevant examples so far. From the drive to find new ways to create, understand and share artistic practices, we’re are developing Informal Art LAB, or informARTlab, a project focused on collaborative practices and the creation of artworks that may “lose” some of its physicality.

Through years of work and experimentation, the Studio has managed to develop new solutions in areas we needed for our own productions but still useful and relevant for others.

We are an art studio open to using our creativity and knowledge beyond our immediate field of work.
